Waiting Room is a looped video fragment of the live feed from the Washington Press Corps on January 8, 2020 as the press await the arrival of Donald Trump to deliver his address concerning the attacks on the Ayn al-Asad Airbase, Al Anbar Governorate, Iraq the night prior. The tense moments following the attack were marked by speculation and trepidation for a number of possible outcomes; from the launch of an all out war against Iran to the imposition of even greater debilitating sanctions against an already suffering people. In this fragment that tension is drawn out and contrasted with the monotony of waiting and the spectacle of the fecund moment which contains all possibilities. The work has renewed meaning in the wake of the refusal of Trump to formally concede as the world nervously watches the theater of American politics which for better or worse has continued to dominate the trajectories of many peoples lives.
